As part of the City of Chicago’s Cycling Plan 2020, TranSmart provided engineering design services for numerous sections of the 100+ miles of new, on-street bikeway. This included traffic analysis summary, safety analysis, and traffic signal modifications to incorporate the buffered bike lanes and movements, new signing, and striping plans. TranSmart also developed construction documents of the enhanced and new protected/buffered bike lanes, and utilized Synchro traffic models for analyzing the existing and future proposed roadway geometry.
